A portrait of Marie in a collage, with painterly elements.

Hello, hello!
Nice to meet you,
I'm Marie.

As a neurospicy person, I offer perspective beyond the linear logic we've all been trained on. There's more to this life -- I promise! I help you access and reconnect to the resources you already have in fresh ways to expand your realm of possibilities.

My Manifesto

As a coach & advisor, I gracefully and playfully help clients connect and befriend their Shadows, so that they may live with them and not below them. As a facilitator and learning experience designer, I systematically dismantle echo chambers and shame through shifting cultures of monologuing back to dialoguing, revealing similarities and symbiotic diversities. As an artist, I create and witness moments of awe, delight, and creativity as our greatest unifiers. And as a humanitarian, I'm here to remind us we’re all stars, and together, we’re one constellation!

My Journey

I’ve been through coup d'etats, marshal law, volcanic eruptions, floods and earthquakes.

I went to an international school, which is arguably the best education this soul could’ve asked for.

I was born into service from the start, as my Dad was the head of a camp for Vietnamese refugees in the Philippines for 20+ years.

I engaged ambassadors, global CEOs, archbishops, philosophers, and Philippine supreme court justices in captivating dinner conversations. Picture seven-year-old me, asking questions that would stump many of these accomplished adults!

My parents, four brothers and I traveled to different parts of the world every summer til I was 16. What a gift of perspective, awe, wonder and delight!

When I was 12, I asked my parents to send me to an outdoor survival school in Malaysia for fun. I built my own tent & raft and learned to survive in the wild.

I moved across the world w my family to San Francisco at the age of 16. Can we say, culture shock?!

I backpacked around Europe at 18 w $300 in my pocket. Adventures were had!

I went to college, moved to Hawai’i on a whim for a year, and moved back to Bay and finished my BA in comm w a minor in psych and philosophy.

Ever since high school, I was obsessed w the psychology of advertising. While an intern in college, I met a Creative Chief Director of a major advertising firm who graciously mentored me for a bit. While I found him and his work to be excellent, I found the ethics of the overall industry to be misaligned w my soul, so I left.

Toward the end of college I fell in love, got married, bought a house in the 'burbs.

I started a social coaching business because I saw the need in the Bay Area - all these geniuses had a hard time expressing themselves needed support!

Then I had the most miraculous little girl, my sweet joy! My pelvis separated from the pregnancy and I wasn't able to walk for a few months, though I could hold her in my arms. It was tough but it left more time for snuggles! I fully recovered years later.

It was through becoming a Mom that I grounded into my sense of awe, wonder, delight, and play again!

A few years later, my then husband and I got divorced. I moved in w my parents w my daughter. Even though I didn’t receive any alimony, and I personally had very little money, I managed to live a very serendipitous, adventurous, and rich life.

I accidentally went to Vipassana, a ten day silent meditation retreat, thinking it was an affordable vacation. Ha. Instead, I proceeded to have 3-5 breakdowns followed by a whole new outlook on life.

I managed to go to Stanford for their non-profit management institute and was certified.

It was during these exploration days, I met culture hackers who were pushing the boundaries of what could be and I was hooked. Into a rabbit hole I went w gusto!

Turns out, the Love of my life volunteered at the org I was helping to run. We were smitten kittens!

We went to our first Burning Man together, stayed in separate camps, but couldn’t keep away from each other - despite being surrounded by beautiful, curious, smart, funny people.

Life had a fun surprise for us - I was pregnant only after dating a few months. We moved in - had an in-depth talk upfront about boundaries while allowing room for evolution to move us along.

The same year I had our baby boy, my former husband (my daughters bio dad) was diagnosed w brain cancer and passed away. What an incredible year - to hold Life and Death in the same hand.

Tapping into the culture hacking vibe, I started an arts org in the Bay promoting prosocial behavior. We worked with the worlds best scientists, neuroscientists, psychologists to translate their research around emotions, creativity, and mindfulness into playful yet transformative interactive art installations.

I worked w the likes of Bloomberg, Stanford, Asian Art Museum, City of San Francisco, Complexity Adventures, The Culture Conference, and more.

Then the pandemic happened so I pivoted to create and facilitate online programs.

I took a break, moved my family to Austin, TX and focused on the transition and my children.

But as you have it, my soul’s calling started beckoning to start coaching, facilitating, and doing learning experience design again – all in the name of awe!

So here we are, and here you are. ❤️
